However, for the most picturesque views with golden sea oats and warm water suitable for swimming, I recommend mid-September to mid-October.During the weekdays following Labor Day, the beach appears almost deserted. However, it’s important to acknowledge that Wormsloe might not be the ideal location for every client. To ensure the best conditions for my clients, I typically limit sessions at Wormsloe to one per day. Scheduling your session shortly after the 9 a.m. opening addresses the majority of challenges faced in the afternoon.A crucial factor to consider is the main dirt road, where the most sought after iconic photos are taken, also serves as a pathway for vehicles. If you have young ones who may take some time to get into the groove, especially on the road, this location could potentially cause stress for parents.

Drawing from over 15 years of experience at Wormsloe, I’ve found that the morning back light from the main gate produces the most visually pleasing results. Opting for a morning session reduces traffic, resulting in cleaner backdrops void of unwanted man-made elements in your shots like parking cones and cars that afternoon sessions must contend with.While a recent client initially voiced a preference for an afternoon session, the reality of competing with several other families and couples for photos along with the sticky afternoon heat they were quickly converted to preferring a morning session in the future.The photos I am including in this post are from a Wormsloe couples session I did with a sweet couple and their show-stealing Golden Doodle Leo.
