How I conduct sessions as a Savannah senior photographer

As a Savannah senior photographer, I follow several guidelines to ensure a successful session. Firstly, it’s crucial for the senior to be fully engaged in the process. This includes sharing their interests, likes and dislikes, which helps create a personalized session that they will enjoy and be proud of. This means having a say in the wardrobe, in the locations and in the look and feel of their session overall.

Secondly, I require a parent to be present during the entire session. This is not only for supervision, but also for support. The parent can assist with wardrobe changes, help remind the senior of desired poses or backgrounds, and provide moral support.

In addition, I make sure to capture images of the senior with any family members or friends who are present, like Lauren Grace hugging her mother here. This image was actually inspired from an image I made of the two of them several years ago during a family session on Tybee when Lauren Grace was just a little girl. Relationships for a senior are just as important as the coming of age is  itself, and these images can become a treasured memory.

Lastly, I encourage seniors to have fun and be themselves, like Lauren Grace climbing in the fountain for this series. She loved the silliness of the request and her ability to laugh and enjoy herself simply had to come out. I do this by engaging in casual conversation, getting to know them and their interests. My goal is to bring out their confidence and let their personality shine. When they talk about what they love, their entire demeanor changes and they stand taller with a certainty in their voice and light in their eyes.

If you want your senior to have a memorable, positive experience that leaves them feeling confident and happy with their images, I would be honored to be considered for your Savannah senior photographer.
