Wormsloe Family Photography | Setting clients up for a successful experience

Creating Wormsloe family photography sessions is without a doubt an experience that produces magical results. But, did your photographer explain the challenges to set you up for a fun, successful shoot? The first thing, which is pretty straight forward, is the fees. The cost is $10 for adults, $4.50 for youth 6-17 years and $2 for children under 6 years. These is also an application your professional photographer must fill out along with a $35 professional photography fee. Easy enough.Wormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyThe next thing to consider is the time of your session. Wormsloe is a State Park and is open Monday thru Sunday 9 a.m. -4:45 p.m.. This means during late spring to early fall the best light is going to be the first thing when they open due to the heat in late afternoons and needs to wrap 15 minutes prior to closing. (Nobody likes to be rushed or hot and sweaty.) You’ll want to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the gate opening and be prepared to pay all your fees and submit paper work before you drive to the designated photography area. There are public restrooms, but arrive in your wardrobe will be helpful in regards to time as you’ll soon see.Wormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyThe greatest challenge of Wormsloe family photography, or any type of session there, is the long dirt lane itself. That’s because that’s also the only way in and out for all visitors to reach the museum, theater and gift shop. The best way to handle this challenge is first off to be aware of it. Hopefully your photographer shared this detail when your mentioned Wormsloe for your family photography session. Another way I set my clients up for success is before going out in the lane is by warming them up by photographing them at nearby location with low hanging branches dripping in Spanish Moss.Wormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWhen I feel they’re comfortable and ready for the challenge, I prepare the parents and let them know we’re going out into the lane to get several of iconic shots you’re after. I’ll guide them through several poses and playfully candid scenarios until a vehicle is nearing our location. At that time I’ll directed the parents that we are all moving to the side. Sometimes there are two or three rounds of this process due to heavy traffic, but it’s patience and my clients expecting such conditions that sets the tone for a successful, fun experience.Wormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-PhotographyWormsloe-Family-Photography
