If your family is like many others that visit Tybee Island odds are this isn’t your first or last Tybee Island family vacation. How many times have you been here with your kids and left with only a few phone photographs to document the annual event you’ve been planning all year?
Many are guilty, so don’t beat yourself up too much, rather be productive and ask yourself the next question. What are you going to do about it? Did you know that there are many families that have documenting the annual growth and personality development of their families every year faithfully for several years? Personally speaking, it’s one of the most humbling honors to witness a family grow and to see their little ones develop their sense of how they respond to the world. When I look at all the Tybee Island Family Vacation photo sessions from just one family that I’ve been working with for seven years it’s hard to not be moved my the gravity of it all.
Think about where the kids will be in ten, even five years from now in their development. This isn’t family photos. This is your family’s visual history. Picture the old black and white photography of families you’ve seen in history books…or at an antique sale…or if you’re lucky, in your own family albums. Look at those people and see how they put on their Sunday best and invested in what might me the only family photograph they ever had. Now imagine not only the ability to tell that story with personality, candid playful moments and interaction, but now you can tell it for years and even generations. So what are you waiting for?
