I’ve had the pleasure of documenting families on Tybee for ten years now and I want to share a secret with you. To this day I get a little nervous and excited before every single Tybee Island beach session. As soon as the session starts I truly feel I’m where I belong and I’m beyond content. It’s absolutely my favorite part of what I do for a living. But just before I leave home and arrive the butterflies come bouncing in.
The nerves are there as I reminder that I love what I do and that I’m invested in getting it right for everyone that allows me the greatest honor of letting me into their family circle. That’s an amazing amount of trust and I don’t take it lightly. (Obviously even my body is aware of it and responds accordingly.) I always tell myself that if there ever comes a time where I don’t feel a bit nervous at the beginning that I should retire because my heart isn’t fully committed. I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
If you’re reading this and I’ve had the honor of photographing you and your loved ones I just want to say thank you for putting your faith in me. It’s because you did that I am able to live my dreams. Here’s one more Tybee Island beach session that I hope you feel just a tiny bit of the excitement I did while in the presence of this adorable family.
